A small convenience shop is situated at the rear of the bar carrying basics you may need.

Bread
During July and August fresh bread and pastries, can be delivered every morning around 9:00 am. |
Within 8kms of the camp-site, in the town of Roulliac, there are plenty of shops and local supermarkets. The town of Angoulême (20 minutes by car) hosts a selection of shops and boutiques. On the outskirts of the town there is a Centre Commercial which has amongst others a Géant casino superstore and at La Couronne on the road to Bordeaux, there is an Auchan superstore.
Generally, French shops / stores keep the following hours:
Superstores – open between 7 and 9 am and some stay open later (9 or 10 pm), most are usually closed on Sundays.
Food stores – open between 7 and 9 am and close around 7 - 7:30 pm. Most open Sunday mornings from 9 am until 11:30 am.
Non-food stores usually open at 9 am and close around 7:30 pm
Most shops / stores outside major cities and towns close between 12 noon and 2 pm for their lunch break. Many close half or all day on Mondays. |
Markets
Most of the local villages hold markets weekly on various days around the region. These are a great way to spend a morning where you can find fresh oysters, mussels, fish and everything from tractors to chickens at some of the bigger town markets.
On the 27th of each month a spectacular all day street market is held in the historical town of Rouillac, selling everything including animals, food, wine, clothes, machinery, household items and much more. This is one of the biggest agricultural fairs of its type in France; it takes up the whole town and is well worth a visit.
